3. Read the three scenarios and associated challenges that the teacher faces below:

Scenario 1 – Use of resources – Every time you teach, you find yourself struggling to locate the necessary resources during lesson preparation, and as the lesson progresses, you realise that you’re missing some essential materials.

Scenario 2 – Use of space – When covering English, you like to promote discussions in small groups; however, you’ve found that this is difficult to achieve as your classroom is arranged in rows.

Scenario 3 – Use of time – It’s the end of your first day teaching year 4. Your pupils have neglected to return items to their proper places and you have had to spend a significant amount of time tidying the class after you have dismissed them.

For EACH scenario, think of ONE course of action that you would take to mitigate or alleviate the challenge.

4. With reference to the article, explain why each action would be effective and would positively impact your pupils’ learning. You MUST refer back to the ‘Organising the Classroom for Learning’ text in your explanations.
