An Introduction to Your Grad2Teach Onboarding

Welcome to the first piece of training that you’ll complete on the Grad2Teach Trainee Hub. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to access and navigate the Trainee Hub yet – all of this will be explained in this section of the course. One of the purposes of our onboarding training is to show you how to use, and give you practice at using, the Trainee Hub.

All of your Onboarding tasks need to be completed by the end of your second week with us and to be uploaded on Sunday, Week 2. Please note that you need to upload your Onboarding tasks a PDF files.

Please note that we are referring to the revised version of the Blooms Taxonomy Framework.

The original ‘Bloom’s Taxonomy‘, developed in 1956, presented a hierarchical model of cognitive skills, starting from basic knowledge such as ‘Remembering’ and progressing to higher-order thinking skills such as ‘Evaluation’. It included six levels: ‘Knowledge’, ‘Comprehension’, ‘Application’, ‘Analysis’, ‘Synthesis’, and ‘Evaluation’.

However, in 2001, ‘Anderson and Krathwohl’ revised this framework to reflect a more dynamic understanding of learning. They restructured the categories and updated the language to emphasise active processes. For example, ‘Knowledge’ became ‘Remembering,’ and ‘Synthesis’ was redefined as ‘Creating,’ now placed at the top level to highlight its complexity.
