What is the Assessment Only Route?
The Assessment-Only Route (AOR) to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is designed for experienced, educators who can demonstrate that they meet all of the Teachers’ Standards without the need for additional training. It is an expedited path for those with substantial teaching experience, particularly those working as unqualified teachers, allowing you to gain QTS by undergoing a rigorous assessment process.
This route serves candidates who have taught across a variety of settings and age ranges, requiring experience in at least two different schools. You will be assessed on your teaching abilities, academic qualifications, and your suitability for the teaching profession based on your ability to meet and demonstrate the Teaching standards confidently and comprehensively.
