What Do I Need to Do?

Complete Entry 2 of your Independent Learning Journal by summarising the key findings from your initial research and early conversations with colleagues. If you are unsure of what we are referring to, please refer to the Week 1 topic page titled ‘Settling In Checklist – Preparation for Your School Community Project’ for guidance.

(1) Use the Gibbs Reflective Cycle framework to examine and analyse the information that you have gathered about your school, its ethos and values, its staff and their personal and professional skills and qualities.

(2) Reflect on the aspects that have surprised you so far, explaining why they stood out. Consider who or what has made a particularly positive impression, people that you’ve enjoyed speaking with or meeting, and why those interactions were meaningful.

(3) Looking ahead, articulate what you hope to gain from your experience at the school over the coming year. What areas would you like to develop in – what skills, experiences, or training opportunities are you eager to pursue?
