Complete first Action Plan

What Is a Study Group?

Our study groups are run every three weeks and are the equivalent of a university seminar. We’ll have a topic in mind and ask you to do some prep. work beforehand (reading, jotting down your thoughts) so that you can take part in a useful discussion with your peers and develop your confidence.

What Will This Session Be About?

This session will be about Professional Values.

What Do I Need To Do To Prepare?

(1) Have a look at the non-negotiables list from TD1 HERE – which of these values/qualities/behaviours resonated with you as things you do/don’t do/want to do? Why? Make some notes.

(2) Read the article by Alan Newland, At the Chalkface’ about building resilience and good habits: Consider – and jot down – which of these you might like to adopt in order to thrive at school and on the course and why you have chosen them. Get your analytical and reflective thoughts flowing!

(3) If you’re the kind of person who enjoys completing psychometric tests, you might like to take this free test to get you thinking about your own values: Work values test | free work value assessment test at 123test.com

(4) Re-read your TD1 reflections and see whether you have modified your thoughts or views since you first wrote them. Again, get your analytical and reflective thoughts flowing! Make some notes and be prepared to talk about this in the session – we will give everyone a chance to talk. You can upload your Study Prep notes below – they don’t have to be extensive, but they’re great evidence of your learning and development journey that you can look back on in 12 weeks’ time!
