Week 4

W3 Tasks and Key Dates For This Week
Welcome to Week 3! You’ll be working on a key topic within the Professional Values theme from this week: Safeguarding. Over the next few weeks, you’ll need to know and understand your school’s Safeguarding Policy, what happens in your school and what the safeguarding picture looks like across the UK. Your research into this very important topic will take you through both theory and practice, and you’ll have the chance to understand the children that make up your school community far better. To help you get stuck into your research journey, book a meeting with your school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead as soon as you can, if you haven’t done so already. You can see all of the different aspects of your research and writing on this topic by looking at the lessons throughout Week 3. Here are your reminders for the tasks and activities you need to complete this week:
(1) Complete your Independent Learning Journal (ILJ) on the school’s Safeguarding policy (2) Meet with your school’s DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead) . If you can’t meet your DSL this week, try to meet them as soon as possible.
(3) Begin your Safeguarding assignment prep. Your written assignment on Safeguarding is due on Friday 7 November. Good luck!
Key Dates:
Attend Study Group 1 – where the focus is on Professional Values
REMINDER
Grad2Teach plans to review your first half-term’s progress with your In-School Mentor before you break up, and you need to arrange a date and time and email your Partnerships Coordinator to help you make the arrangements. Look under the Materials tab for Week 6 to see how you can prepare for this meeting – it needs to be arranged some time between 13th and 17th October.
