NEW: Mini Project – Understanding Bloom’s Taxonomy (Revised)
After your first half-term on placement, you’ll have started to pick up some teaching and learning theory (pedagogy) and realised that there is indeed such a thing as ‘good practice’ when it comes to planning and delivering lessons. This mini project on Bloom’s Taxonomy will introduce you to a toolkit that helps teachers to design lessons that encourage critical and creative thinking in a logical sequence from less complex to more complex tasks. Start by watching the short video below and then complete the activities which follow. Your final activity, which is the most important, will ask you to use your newly-acquired knowledge and understanding of the Taxonomy to design a lesson or series of activities which can move pupils from simple understanding to deeper-level learning.
Part 1: What is Bloom’s Taxonomy Revised? Watch the video to understand the rationale behind Bloom’s Taxonomy.
So, you’ve watched and listened to the video. Work through the lessons to build your knowledge and understanding of Bloom’s Taxonomy.
