Week 4

W4 Tasks and Key Dates For This Week
Well done for getting to Week 4 – this means that you’ve already completed the first month of your placement and reassure you that you’ll feel properly settled in no time. This week, you’ll be observing your colleagues teach, making a particular effort to understand how they employ different strategies to manage their classroom and secure good behaviour for learning from their pupils. Here are your reminders for the tasks and activities you need to complete this week:
(1) Complete your ILJ entries focusing on the school’s Behaviour Policy.
(2) Complete your first Observation of a Colleague for their behaviour management/behaviour for learning strategies.
(3) Evaluate the strategies used in the lesson you observed and consider how you might adopt or adapt them in your own teaching practice.
Key Dates: Your first face-to-face training event is coming up. It’s an excellent chance to meet your fellow trainees as well as develop your knowledge and skills.
Remember to complete your Phase 1 Key Details form so we know if you have any dietary or other requirements on the day: Form
REMINDER: Grad2Teach plans to review your first half-term’s progress with your In-School Mentor before you break up, and you need to arrange a date and time and email your Partnerships Coordinator to help you make the arrangements. Look under the Materials tab for Week 6 to see how you can prepare for this meeting.
